Kazunori MIYAMOTO was born in Tokushima in 1979. He received his B. Sc. degree in 2002, M. Sc. degree in 2004, and Ph. D degree in 2008 from University of Tokushima. He joined Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Tokushima as an assistant professor in 2005 (supervisor: Prof. Masahito Ochiai). In 2014, He moved to the University of Tokyo as a lecturer (supervisor: Prof. Masanobu Uchiyama), and he was promoted to an associate professor of the University of Tokyo in 2019. He received The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan Award for Young Scientists (2014), Springer Poster Award (5th International Conference on Hypervalent Iodine Chemistry, 2016), Chemist Award BCA (2018), Thieme Chemist Journal Award (2019), The Young Scientists’ Prize (2019). His research interests are in the areas of hypervalent halogen chemistry, chemistry of reactive intermediates, and synthetic organic chemistry.
